Can we eat the skin
I got some from the grocery store was hard to cut and the skin seems thick but it was tasty, I planted some American persimmons in my yard they will produce tinny fruits but I planted them for the wildlife
How does one store them when ripe and cracked? Do they tolerate the fridge?

@A A Ha,ha! Good to hear it. Sounds like the British influx kept its influence. Only trouble is, TV is usually mostly American, so any influence ends up with a country being Americanised. I read even Iceland is so Americanised these days, because it has had so much of their influence.
@A A Cute! We have Africans who were born in Glasgow with a strong Glaswegian accent. Imagine seeing an Afro/Caribbean person, then hearing a strong Scottish accent coming out of it! Like a black Nicola Sturgeon.
@A A Great fun!! If it was the other way around and white people spoke with strong African or Chinese accents, it would look really out of place.
